Sushi is the highlight of Japanese cuisine. These small delicacies made from rice marinated in vinegar and combined with fresh fish, seafood, vegetables or tofu are not only a delight to the palate but also a feast for the eyes. They are freshly prepared for you in a traditional Japanese way by the skilled hands of our sushi master and served in a modern Asian setting. The source and quality of the ingredients we use are a top priority, followed by our own desire to serve you sushi in a way that you would probably only otherwise experience in Japan.
The most well-known and popular types of sushi are “makizushi” and “nigirizushi”. Makizushi are filled sushi rolls wrapped in sheets of roast seaweed. Nigirizushi are small mounds of rice shaped by hand with a topping. There are numerous different possibilities, from vegetarian variations right up to fish, octopus, mussels and prawns. A further favorite among connoisseurs is “Sashimi”. As opposed to classical sushi, this variety is always made from fish cut into wafer-thin slices with an extremely sharp knife. Sashimi is served on its own – without rice.
Traditionally, sushi and sashimi are eaten with the hands or chopsticks and accompanied by green tea or Japanese sake. However, a glass of wine or beer is an excellent alternative.
